The day my mother died started as an ordinary
day when I began my morning at the Y, greeted by the friendly
people who asked after my health and bid me a cheery
hello.
My first encounter was with Cathy, an
instructor, who, after hearing the news, shared her hugs and
her comforting words and her offer of, "Call me anytime."
Other members were similarly sympathetic and
Heather hugged me in the hall on the way out and offered her
sincere condolences.
The Y has earned its reputation as a family
friendly facility and I am grateful to be a member of that
family.
