Letter: Fall fair committee thanks community for support

First post-COVID fall fair at Anderson Farm Museum was a success

The Anderson Farm Museum Fall Fair on Sept. 16 featured dozens and dozens of local vendors selling their wares.

After three years of having to cancel our free annual events at the Anderson Farm Museum because of COVID-19, an archaeological assessment and capital projects at the Anderson Farm Museum, the Anderson Farm Museum Heritage Society was very excited to host our 14th Annual Fall Fair once again Sept. 16 at the Anderson Farm Museum.

The weather co-operated and thousands of people — from CGS and out-of-town — discovered something for everyone, throughout the 14 acre site.

The Heritage Society would like to thank everyone whose generous long-term support helped us host our 14th Annual Fall Fair at the Anderson Farm Museum!

  • The City of Greater Sudbury
  • Sudbury Tourism and Culture
  • The Greater Sudbury Heritage Museums
  • PURE Country 91.7
  • Our 18 long-term business, corporate and community (cash and in-kind) sponsors
  • Our 19 community partners, who provided free activities, displays and demonstrations
  • Sudbury Cemetery Services, who provided a Gator for setting-up/taking-down
  • And the eight local bands who provided live entertainment on our outdoor stage

The Heritage Society would particularly like to express our sincere appreciation to Brent Battistelli and Battistelli’s YIG who have been long-term gold, in-kind sponsors of our Fall Fair barbecue since 2012.

This year Brent provided $3,233,26 in-kind products for our barbecue, raising almost $5,800 in sales at this year’s Fall Fair!

We are sorry to learn that Brent is retiring this year. Brent has always been a generous supporter of Walden Community Groups, Schools and Service Clubs etc who were organizing community events, projects and services.

We will miss him and wish him all the best in the future!

We really appreciated the support of the 104 vendors of all kinds and community groups who set-up their booths throughout the 14-acre site, and everyone young and old from CGS and out of town, who joined us at our 14th Annual Fall Fair!

Special thanks to our volunteer AFM heritage board and fall fair committee and all our volunteers - who helped us make this year’s fall fair a huge success!
