Letter: Plenty to consider with UAVs

Great article, and it’s important that everyone is educated in this area.

What the article does not mention, and I appreciate space constraints, is that Transport Canada (TC) requires those flying UAVs commercially are ground-school trained.

That is, they have attended, completed and successfully passed an examination by a TC recognized flight school and they also have the required liability insurance.

Additionally, as a UAV pilot myself, it is imperative that each flight is carefully reviewed before, during and after.

A risk assessment, if you will, should be conducted so that all participants involved have an understanding of the potential, the known and the possibilities of risk well before any propeller is turned.

Thanks again for the article.
