My thanks to you for the very interesting
article on the hospital posting surgical wait times online in
the March 13 edition.
I have been on the waiting list for hip
surgery with a Sudbury surgeon since March 2004. That is one
year now. My doctor's office will not give me the faintest idea
when my operation will be.
Nowhere on the website do I find a waiting
time of one year or even one close to it as a suggested waiting
time. They all are shorter times. I do well understand all the
other circumstances mentioned in your article that may
influence waiting times.
Would it not be better for the government not
to publish any numbers instead of wrong or misleading ones?
This perhaps may get some people's hopes
up when they would otherwise remain content
and wait until they are notified.
