I am a concerned citizen of Capreol. I am 14
years old and have both a snowmachine licence and a boating
licence. I am a little concerned about my family.
We're scared to go on the snowmachine
trails because teenagers run their machines full speed on the
trails. I think a snowmachine licence should be a little like a
boating licence. For instance, I'm only allowed to drive a
boat with up to a 40 HP motor. I think that should apply to a
snowmachine too.
For example, a 12-year-old should only be
rated a 250 cc snowmachine motor; ages 14 and up should be able
to drive a 340; and a 16-year-old a 500. Only drivers 18 and
older should be able to drive whatever engine they want.
Every time there is a snowmachine accident
our insurance goes up; and it involves mostly teenagers.
Speed kills!
