American Gangster top grossing film in Canada last week

American Gangster is directed by Ridley Scott. Washington portrays Frank Lucas, a real-life heroin kingpin from Harlem who smuggled the drug into the country in American service planes returning from the Vietnam War. Crowe portrays Richie Roberts, a detective who brings down Lucas' drug empire.

American Gangster continues this week at SilverCity Cinemas. The Bee Movie is also showing, as are: Lions For Lambs, Fred Claus, Dan In Real Life, and Saw IV.

Dreamworks' Transformers, was the top selling DVD in Canada during the last month of October.

Other popular DVDs with Canadians are Meet the Robinsons, The Sopranos, Season 6 Part 2, Evan Almighty, Knocked UP and Hannah Montana, and Life's What You Make It.
