American Gangster with Russell Crowe and Denzel Washington
earned $4.7 million at the Canadian box office last week. The
Bee Movie grossed $3.7 million.
American Gangster is directed by Ridley Scott. Washington
portrays Frank Lucas, a real-life heroin kingpin from Harlem
who smuggled the drug into the country in American service
planes returning from the Vietnam War. Crowe portrays Richie
Roberts, a detective who brings down Lucas' drug empire.
American Gangster continues this week at SilverCity Cinemas.
The Bee Movie is also showing, as are: Lions For Lambs, Fred
Claus, Dan In Real Life, and Saw IV.
Dreamworks' Transformers, was the top selling DVD in Canada
during the last month of October.
