Have your antiques and collectibles appraised at the Great Canadian Roadshow while it’s in town Aug. 16 to 21.
If you’ve ever wondered what that antique clock on the fireplace is actually worth, you’re chance to find out is here.

The Great Canadian Roadshow is on a six-day stop in Sudbury to appraise, and in some cases purchase, antiques, collectibles, coins, instruments, paper money, toys, war items, jewelry and precious metals.

Terry Koutros, manager of the travelling show, said three or four buyers will be set up to evaluate goods.

“We work on behalf of a group of collectors,” he said. “If what they bring matches what our collectors are looking for, we make a purchase right on the spot.”

While there is no obligation for visitors to sell their items, the option is there.

“We’ve paid thousands of dollars for some items, and a couple hundred for some items,” Koutros said.

The Great Canadian Roadshow will be set up at the Howard Johnson on Brady Street until Aug. 21. From Monday to Friday, it will be open from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m., and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Admission to the event is free.

“It’s definitely an exciting road show coming to Sudbury,” Koutros said. “People can see what their collectibles are valued for. It’s just overall a fun thing for Sudbury.”
