Students and faculty from Cambrian College's graphic design program and the Association of Registered Graphic Designers (RGD) of Ontario are hosting the opening night of Twist, an exhibition created by students in the 2009 graduating class.

The event takes place Thursday, April 16, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in On the Rocks - the Cambrian Student Centre at the college's Barrydowne campus. In addition to showcasing student works, Twist will include the release of a commemorative CD package and the launch of the best-in-show exhibit website.

The event will also introduce the only northern Ontario exhibition of the RGD Ontario Design at Work professional design award winners.

"We're really excited about this, our sixth annual graduate exhibit," said Ron Beltrame, graphic design program co-ordinator.

"The quality of the work keeps getting better every year and is a testament to the flourishing design sector in northern Ontario, as well as to the highly-creative students who are choosing to study at Cambrian. As well, we are honoured to have been chosen to host the Design at Work Exhibition as a kickoff for the Lateral Thinkers design conference that will take place April 16-17, in the eDome at Cambrian College."

Both exhibits will stay on display in the Student Centre until Monday, April 20. After that date, the Twist exhibition will be on display in studio 3190 until June 15.

Schools and other groups who would like to book a private or guided viewing of the exhibition can contact Ron Beltrame at 566-8101 ext. 7598 or [email protected] .
