As part of the YMCA’s 25th annual Peace Week celebrations, Sudbury Chief of Police Frank Elsner sat down with a group of children from YMCA daycares across the Greater Sudbury Area to read them the book Imagine a Day, by Sarah L. Thomson, a volume that encourages parents and children alike to look beyond the limits of the everyday world and imagine.

More than 60,000 children, youth and adults nationwide were taking part in Peace Week celebrations.

Between Nov. 21 and 28, more than 100 Canadians, including two from Sudbury, will be presented with the prestigious YMCA Peace Medallion “in recognition of their efforts to make our communities and our world better for all.”
