Sudbury Video News - Sudburians asked to contribute to heritage quilt Marilyn Knoll heads up the heritage quilt project currently underway at Greater Sudbury Public Libraries. To celebrate 125 years of heritage, quilters and sewers are invited to contribute towards the quilt.

Themes are mining, lumbering, railway, farming, re-greening and land of lakes heritage. Some of the blocks that have been handed in used photo transfers, paint and appliqué.

Quilt kits are available at any library in Greater Sudbury. The free kits include a registration form, instructions and a background fabric to complete a 12 inch quilt block. Quilters are allowed up to three kits at one time and may pick up more, once the completed blocks are returned.

For every finished block returned, participants will receive a ballot to enter a draw for $125. Blocks must be returned by February 25. The finished quilt will be launched at TD Square in April. For more information phone 673-1155 or go to www.sudbury.library.on.ca .
