Mike Levesque, secretary treasurer of Sudbury Classic Cruisers, will be giving the Claude Dufresne Memorial award to the person deemed most dedicated to the street rod hobby this Saturday.

The Claude Dufresne Memorial Cruise is held yearly in memory of Dufresne, who was killed 15 years ago in an accident. Anyone interested in joining the cruise, and who has a vehicle 15 years or older, can meet at the Costco parking lot at 5:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 1.

Cars will be travelling to A&W on Lasalle Boulevard, then to 14 Poland St. in Copper Cliff. The Sudbury Classic Cruisers group is holding its 18th Annual Car Show, Sunday, Aug. 2 at Bell Park. Gates are open from 8 a.m. until noon for participants and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the public. The first 175 vehicles registered receive a participation award. Donations to the Sudbury Food Bank will be accepted at the gate.
