The 74-foot long, 18-wheel tractor-trail tours the United States. Greater Sudbury was the only Canadian stop on its cross-America tour.

The Bookmobile was at the Main Branch on MacKenzie Street on Aug. 24, and at the Valley East Library on Aug. 25. About 120 people visited during the downtown stop, and another 90 at the Valley East stop.

More than 1,000 audio books and e-book titles are available through the Greater Sudbury Public Library. The books are downloaded directly to the user's computer, explained a press release from the Library.

When the lending period is over, the titles are automatically removed and prevents overdue fines.

When the visit in Greater Sudbury was complete, the Bookmobile turned around and headed back to the United States.
