On Saturday, Dec. 6, Sudbury will deck itself out in festive
gear to take part in the annual Salvation Army Santa Shuffle.
Participants in Sudbury will enjoy a frosty five km family fun
run, as well as a one km elf walk, around Loach's Road, in the
South End. Participants collect pledges for this event, the
proceeds from which help women, children and men in crisis,
feed and provide shelter for the homeless and help make
Christmas a possibility for those in need.
On this same day, in 35 cities from Victoria to St. John's,
shufflers will be out in support of The Salvation Army. Close
to 10,000 participants from coast-to-coast raised nearly
$335,000 in 2007. Sudbury raised $6,500 with 74 participants.
Those wanting to participate can get entry and pledge forms at
the Running Room, 1984 Regent St. in the Cedar Pointe Plaza,
