Drive the kids out to Dowling Saturday for some fun

Falls Fest a fundraiser for splash pad in Onaping

The communities of Dowling and Onaping Falls are getting together for some fun tomorrow at the second annual Falls Fest.

The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Dowling Leisure Centre, featuring a variety of activities for children.

That includes exhibits by Science North, Sudbury Party Animals and emergency services, bouncy castles, a dunk tank, face painting, henna tattoos, carnival games and a kids' art show.

There's also a classic car show, a barbecue and vendors.

“It's fantastic for our little community out there,” said organizer Carrie Morin. “We get to see everyone, and all the kids from the three different schools get together.”

Last year's event attracted several hundred people, she said.

Proceeds from the event go towards the cost of building a splash pad at the Onaping Falls Community Centre.

Admission costs $15 per child. Adults get in for free.
