Northern Lights Festival Boréal (NLFB) will present its second annual Northern Lights Oktoberfest at Bell Park, Oct. 2 and 3.
Northeastern Ontario's only Oktoberfest will feature live music, tasty food, various games and activities, German culture (courtesy of the German Language School of Sudbury), and of course, beer; six Ontario craft breweries will take part in this year's event.
The event will be kicked off on Sept. 29 at the Townehouse Tavern with the tapping of the first keg.
In Munich, site of the original Oktoberfest, the mayor kicks off the festivities by tapping the first keg. Organizers are doing the same thing, on a smaller scale, with Sudbury's mayor, Brian Bigger, tapping the first keg of Stack Brewing's Lazerhozen Oktoberfest beer.
The NLFB team will also unveil some more details about the weekend's festivities, and Nickel City Noise, the city's premier oompah band will provide an authentic soundtrack.
