Everybody Loves Raymond actor performing at LOL festival

Comedian and actor Brad Garrett of Everybody Loves Raymond fame will be among the lineup at the third annual Laugh Out Loud Sudbury Comedy Festival, which runs May 26-30.

Although tickets to single performances are available, the festival is also offering a passport deal to festivalgoers. For $225, ticket holders can attend one show per night throughout the entire festival.

An $80 pass for three shows under $35.50 is also available. Tickets go on sale April 28 at the LOL Sudbury office. For more information phone 688-1234 or e-mail [email protected] .

Here's a list of the performances:

May 26 at 7 p.m. at Science North's Inco Cavern - Comedy of Cultures, featuring host and master of four languages Martha Chaves from Nicaragua, kicks off the festival. Comedians on the bill include comic Freddy Proia, Tony Krolo, Ron Josol and Lou Dinos. These comedians aren't afraid to use their culture to get a few laughs from the crowd. Tickets are $35.50.

May 27 at 7 p.m. at Fraser Auditorium - Performances by francophone comedians Genevieve Gangon, Jean-Thomas Jobin and Martin Petit.

May 27 at 7 p.m. at Science North Inco Cavern - The Discovery Channel's Cash Cab host Adam Growe holds a "Quiz Showe." The evening starts off with one-man show, the Mom and Pop Show, followed by an opportunity to win money out of Growe's own pocket. Tickets are $29.50.

May 28 at 8 p.m. Brad Garrett and Joe Piscopo headline the LOL Live! segment of the festival. Garrett is best known for his role as Robert in Ray Romano's sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond. Garrett currently stars as the lead in his own sitcom, 'til Death, and has delivered laughs countless times as characters in Finding Nemo, Ratatouille, The Pacifier, Night at the Museum and more.

Piscopo is a Saturday Night Live alumni with such memorable characters as David Letterman and Frank Sinatra. He is accompanied on stage by Vinny Falcone, Sinatra's long-time musical director. Tickets are $114.50 for orchestra seating and $110.50 for balcony seating.

On May 29 at 7 p.m. at Fraser Auditorium - Friday Night Main Event, featuring comedy heavyweights Mark Forward, Aaron Berg, Dennis Ross, Pete Zedlacher and Little Darren Frost. Allyson Smith hosts the evening, which will feature a five-minute set by the winner of the 2009 Great North Comedy Search. Orchestra seating tickets are $29.50 and balcony seating is $25.50.

May 29 at 9:30 p.m. at Fraser Auditorium - Sean Cullen's I Am a Human Man tour. Cullen's brand of musical comedy has brought him praise from publications across the country and a spot in the finals of Last Comic Standing. Tickets are $29.50 for orchestra seating and $25.50 for balcony seating.

May 29 at 11:30 p.m., the 1500 Pub - Darkside of Comedy with host Jennifer Grant, featuring the comedy of Darren Frost, Aaron Berg and Jay Brown. The night promises to be a showcase of rude and crude performance for a 19 years plus audience. Tickets are $17.50 in advance or $20 at the door.

May 30 at 7 p.m. at Fraser Auditorium - Women Fully Clothed return, older and hotter. The sketch comedy troupe features the talent of Saturday Night Live and SCTV alumni Robin Duke, former Second City member Jayne Eastwood, Kathryn Greenwood from Whose Line Is It Anyway?, This Hour Has 22 Minutes, Made in Canada and Royal Canadian Air Farce, and Second City alumni Teresa Pavlinek. Tickets are $41.50.

On May 30 at 3 p.m. at the Countryside Arena - The Jokers Hockey Club, featuring Ted Bisaillion of TSN's Off the Record, comedian Mike Takacs, comic, actor and writer Steve Levine, Barenaked Ladies' Tyler Stewart, Paul Irving, comic and Humber College professor Rob Trick, standup and goalie Burke Lawrence, comedian Derek Thompson, Canadian Comedy Award winner Gary Rideout Jr. and Second City alumni Marc Hickox are set to do battle on the ice with a team of Sudbury all stars, made up of media and local celebrities. Pay what you can at the door, money will be donated to a minor hockey charity.

May 30 at 9:30 p.m. in Fraser Auditorium - The Jokers Hockey Club assemble off the ice for the Jokers Variety Show. Players will display their unique comedy and musical talents on stage for a post-victory or post-defeat celebration. Tickets are $29.50.

May 30 at 11:30 p.m. at the 1500 Pub - Darkside of Comedy returns for one more night featuring host Mark Forward and crude comedy by Allyson Smith, Dennis Ross and Pete Zedlacher. Tickets are $17.50 in advance and $20 at the door.
