Tafelmusik is Canada's award-winning orchestra on period instruments. The orchestra, Canada's most recorded and arguably most famous, was founded in 1979. This group has achieved international stature, performing over 50 concerts at home in Toronto, touring extensively around the world, and producing numerous award-winning recordings. In April 2000, Gramophone Magazine described Tafelmusik as "one of the world's top baroque orchestras".

Tafelmusik has been honoured with nine Juno awards. Tafelmusik's vision for music education also includes a program for students in grades six through 12.  During the group's tour to Sudbury, they will present a workshop for students. Handel's Water Music will be held Thursday, Feb. 28 from 11 am to noon at Glad Tidings Tabernacle.
