Whether you’ve seen him in action on WWF, WCW or ECW, if you count yourself a wrestling fan, chances are you know the name “The Franchise” Shane Douglas.

He’ll be on hand Feb. 9 at the Caruso Club on Haig Street as Project X Wrestling returns to town for a night of action.

Best known for his tenures in Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), World Championship Wrestling (WCW), World Wrestling Federation (WWF) as Dean Douglas, and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), where he worked as a wrestler and manager

Douglas has held a dozen championships between ECW, WCW, and the WWF and is a five-time world champion, a four-time ECW World Heavyweight Champion and a one-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion

“As ECW Champion, he holds the records for most combined days as champion (874) and the longest single reign (406 days),” Project X Wrestling said in a news release.

Douglas was also the first of three men (the others being Mick Foley and Chris Jericho) to hold a championship in all three major U.S. promotions in the 1990s, after he was awarded the WWF Intercontinental Championship in 1995.

“The Community is buzzing with excitement that Shane Douglas will be making his Project X Wrestling debut in Sudbury and will be available for a meet & greet to VIP ticket holders,” Project X said in a news release.
