Sunday, Aug. 24 marks the 17th annual Canadian Garlic Festival
in Sudbury.
The Ukrainian Senior's Centre will be hosting the festival at the Centre at 30 Notre Dame Ave., with some events being held at Memorial Park in Sudbury.
This is a day of family fun and garlic nibblers. Some unique snacks include: garlic salads, spreads, bruschetta, balabushky, garlos, hrechanyky with sauerkraut, garlic chicken, garlic cheese balls, kobasa shish-kabobs, perogies, cabbage rolls, beans in garlic sauce, vegetarian garlic chili, and even garlic ice cream, garlic fudge and garlic cookies.
The entertainment lineup includes music, dance performances, children's events, garlic braiding workshops and the Garlic King himself.
