(NC)-Most kids can't wait for Halloween. Lucky for them
there are lots of ways to celebrate this spooky holiday before
they finally get to dress up in their costumes and go out
trick-or-treating.
Here's how:
- Dress up the house inside and out, with flashing
lights, black cat and witch cutouts, tomb stones (made of
cardboard), ghosts (made from old white sheets), spider webs
and other spooky ornaments and decorations. Some people hook up
outside speakers and play sinister-sounding music at
night.
- Visit a pumpkin field with your family and let everyone pick
out - and then carve out - their own jack-o-lantern.
- Plan a Halloween party for your kids (or yourselves).
- Make costumes for the kids - for ideas, check sewing supply
stores, second-hand stores and dollar stores.
- Bake frighteningly delicious treats all month long. Most
people find our Ogre's Toes and Witch's Fingers cookies a
screaming delight, and kids of all ages love spooky Spider Web
Pie. You'll find other great ideas at
