High school students decorate Green Stairs

Sudbury's first art walk is being unveiled at the Green Stairs on Ste. Anne's Road on June 17. The celebration will take place from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.

The celebration will take place from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.

The Green Stairs project, spearheaded by Ward 12 Councillor Joscelyne Landry-Altmann,  has been in the works since 2006. With
new safety features in place, the Green Stairs are now part of the Rainbow Routes History Hikes.

Artwork by students from Sudbury Secondary School, École secondaire du Sacré-Coeur, Marymount Academy and Collège Notre-Dame will by displayed along the walk. Together they have contributed more than 40 original pieces depicting social themes.

The Women of Power, a sculpture created by artist Will Morin, is also on display.
