‘Kanaval’ the next in Cinéfest Red Carpet screening program

“Kanaval” screens at SilverCity Sudbury on Wednesday, May 29 at 7 p.m. as part of the Cinéfest Sudbury 2024 Red Carpet Patron Program.

Cinéfest Sudbury is set to bring the film “Kanaval” to the big screen as part of its 2024 Red Carpet Patron Program. 

The critically acclaimed drama is set to screen at SilverCity Sudbury on Wednesday, May 29 at 7 p.m.

In the early 70s, after leaving their troubled hometown in Haiti, a young boy and his mother settle in a small rural village in Quebec where the boy counts on his invisible friend to understand the new world around him. 

Nominated for three 2024 Canadian Screen Awards, including Best Performance in a Leading Role (Drama), Best Performance in a Supporting Role (Drama), and Best Achievement in Direction, Kanaval will be presented in French and Haitian with English subtitles.
