Just in time for the holidays, Breakfast Clubs of Canada, in association with National Bank Financial Group, is offering a colourful set of luggage tags to help support school breakfast programs across Canada. For $5, this pair of tags makes a perfect gift for parents, teens and kids who want to personalize their luggage and backpacks.

Running from Nov. 16 until Dec. 31, these versatile tags will be available at the front reception of National Bank branches from coast to coast (located at 2 Lisgar St. in Sudbury).

All profits raised will go directly towards supporting community-based breakfast programs across Canada so that thousands of schoolchildren can start their day with a nutritious meal.

“Through this initiative, we are proud to offer Canadians an easy way to give back to their communities,” said Daniel Germain, president-founder of Breakfast Clubs of Canada. “This small token helps thousands of children all year-round get an equal chance at success both in school and in life.”

Research suggests that skipping breakfast has a direct effect on learning. if the situation endures over many years, a child’s chances of succeeding in school and excelling as an adult are reduced.

Last year, thanks to the many donations received and to all its partners, Breakfast Clubs of Canada, along with partner schools and volunteers, were able to serve more than 33 million breakfasts to 204,000 children in 2,043 schools across the country.

Breakfast Clubs of Canada also believes that children need more than just vitamins and minerals to grow strong — school breakfast programs help kids build confidence by breaking down socioeconomic barriers and providing a place to eat breakfast and have fun with their schoolmates.
