(NC)-When it comes to romance, we can be a tongue-tied nation. According to a recent survey by Ipsos-Reid, 25 per cent of Canadians in relationships find it difficult to express their feelings in writing. Come Valentine's Day, 50 per cent find it easier to show their feelings physically.

"It can be tricky finding the right words when signing your Valentine's Day card," says Jennifer Kinnon of Hallmark Canada. "But it doesn't have to be that hard to put a smile on your sweetheart's face."

Kinnon suggests adding your own touches to your Valentine's Day card:

-  Quote a line or two from "your song"
-  Include a poem or an excerpt from a favourite book
-  Enclose a photo that captures a cherished moment
-  Provide a clue to where a gift is hidden
-  Enclose tickets for a weekend getaway, concert or sports event
-  Simply write the time and location of a rendezvous - perhaps where you had your first date.
