Sudbury artist Margaret Loney's works will be exhibited at the Sudbury Theatre Centre (STC) from April 24 to June 10, during regular hours and on Buddy Holly show evenings and weekends.

Loney's paintings feature flowers.

"I cannot imagine a world without flowers," said Loney in her news release. "When I was a child growing up in Larchwood, there were these beautiful marsh marigolds. Wild roses bloomed in the grove and we had bright red geraniums on the windowsill all winter long."

Water colours are the best medium to capture her vision because to her, it is a magical form best suited for floral painting, the news release continued.

Loney has studied at the Haliburton School of Fine Arts and Buckhorn School of Fine Arts. She has also completed workshops with Ivan Wheele and Brian Atyeo.

Loney has an annual show at the Church of the Epiphany and is a regular participant in the Sudbury Art Tour. Her work is part of the collections at the Northeastern Ontario Cancer Treatment Centre, Laurentian University and the Breast Health Clinic.

Her previous exhibits include The Attic, the Sudbury Theatre Centre, Sudbury Paint and Custom Framing and the Walden Spring Show.

Loney also paints blueberries.

"My blueberry paintings have gone all over the world, including England, Ireland, Germany, the U.S.A. and Bulgaria," she said.
