Michelle Murray is Northern Lights Festival Boréal’s new interim executive director.

Northern Lights Festival Boréal has new leadership. After a year and a half, Sudbury musician Tessa Balaz has resigned from the executive director position. The festival’s board has chosen Michelle Murray as interim executive director.

Murray was previously on the festival's board of directors, but stepped down from the board after being appointed interim executive director.

She brings more than 15 years of fundraising and event-planning experience to the festival, having worked in the music industry and in the nonprofit sector. The board of directors welcomed Murray to her new role.

This year’s Northern Lights festival is scheduled for July 4-7, in Sudbury’s Bell Park and satellite venues.

The roster of artists includes: indie rock superstars July Talk; soul, R&B icon Jully Black; celebrated indie-rock-folk institution The Rural Alberta Advantage, and buzzed-about singer-songwriter Tim Baker.

Weekend passes and all-day passes are now on sale at www.nlfb.ca/tickets.
