The growth plan for northern Ontario will be a focal point of TVO's The Agenda, a public affairs show hosted by Steve Paikin.

Guests on the episode include the minister of Northern Development and Mines, Michael Gravelle, NDP MPP Gilles Bison, MPP Randy Hillier, and Laurentian University economics professor David Robinson. They will discuss the plan and the impact it will have on northern Ontario.

The theme of the program is whether the provincial government's 25 year plan for northern Ontario will transform the region's economy.

Robinson said the show will be a live broadcast, and he will be taped in a local studios.

“What I will say in my three and a half minutes (on the show) is that the government is right to say there has been no development plan and that all Ontario government ministries need to cooperate on developing a plan,” Robinson commented.

“But the reality is this is not a blueprint. There are no action items. All they are doing is promising to plan. A lot (therefore) is missing,” he said.

Robinson did say he thought it was a step in the right direction though.
