(CNW) - Payless ShoeSource Canada is voluntarily recalling
approximately 30 pairs of girls' boots sold in Canada because
of a risk that the guitar shaped zipper pulls on the inside of
the boots can become entangled with each other and may cause
the child to trip and fall.
Payless ShoeSource Inc. has also issued a
voluntary recall in the United States in co-operation with the
American  Consumer Product Safety Commission.
These boots are black with a guitar
silhouette on the outside of the boot and a golden guitar
shaped zipper pull on the inside of the boot. "Hanna Montana"
is engraved on the boot outsole and a photo of the singer and
show's character is printed on the box.
The boots were sold in toddler and youth sizes 10.5 to 4.5.
Only the Hannah Montana boots with guitar-shaped zipper pulls
sold in August and September 2007 are included in the recall.
The boots were sold at Payless ShoeSource stores in Canada in
August and September 2007 for $39.99.
Consumers should take these boots away from children
immediately and return them to a Payless ShoeSource store for a
cash refund or exchange.
