Prepping for Graphic-Con: Who's the bigger Star Trek nerd, Heidi or a Klingon? (Video)

One of our nerdiest journalists challenges a member of the local Klingon Assault Group chapter to a Star Trek trivia contest ... Engage!

Graphic-Con, the geekiest day in Sudbury and a popular celebration of fan culture, is tomorrow.

It's one of Sudbury.com's favourite summer events. See below for ticket information for Graphic-Con.

Sudbury.com associate content editor Heidi Ulrichsen, who grew up watching Star Trek: The Next Generation, is a self-admitted Star Trek nerd — or Trekkie, if we want to be accurate.

She often spends her lunch hour watching one iteration of the series or another on Netflix, and probably knows way too much about the Star Trek future.

So in honour of Sudbury's Graphic-Con fan convention June 8, which celebrates all things nerdy, Ulrichsen decided to challenge Neil Stephen, otherwise known by his Klingon name 'IwonoH, to a Star Trek trivia challenge.

Stephen is the commanding officer of Imperial Klingon Vessel Crimson Fox, Sudbury's Klingon Assault Group Chapter.

The Klingon Assault Group is a worldwide group of cosplayers mainly centered around the culture of the fictional aliens of Star Trek — the Klingon Empire.

The trivia questions were prepared and hilariously delivered by Sudbury.com senior reporter Darren MacDonald, another huge Trekkie.

Watch the video to find out whether our journalist knows more about Star Trek than that “petaQ” 'IwonoH. Was she able to claim “Qapla?”

Graphic-Con runs at the Sudbury Arena Saturday, June 8 from 10 a.m. To 6 p.m. If you're a Trekkie too, plenty of Klingon Assault Group cosplayers will be at the event.
