Quality deer management seminar in Sudbury

The Manitoulin Island branch of the Quality Deer Management Association (QDMA) is holding a free, educational seminar about quality deer management.

The Manitoulin Island branch of the Quality Deer Management Association (QDMA) is holding a free, educational seminar about quality deer management.

At the seminar, participants will learn about quality deer management, the QDMA, how quality deer management differs from traditional or trophy management, and how quality deer management can improve deer herds, their habitat and hunting.

Hunters, landowners and anyone interested are invited to attend the seminar.

Matt Ross, the New England and Canada regional director of the QDMA, a trained wildlife biologist and a licensed forester will be discussing the basic deer management strategies and will answer commonly asked questions.

The seminar will take place on Oct. 3 at the Howard Johnson Hotel at 50 Brady St. from 7 to 9 pm.

Seating is limited to the first 100 people.
