The town of Nairn Centre is hosting Redneck Games on Aug. 16. This is a benefit day for two of the town's children - Logan Vincent and Cortnee Jondreau. All donations will go to their parents.

Some of the crazy events include: mud pit belly flop, tug of war, greased pig, redneck surfing, dunk tank, greased pole climb, redneck horseshoes,t-quad obstacle course, quad mud bog and even more.

The day will start with the official arrival of the "flame" and the lighting of the official barbecue at 1:00 p.m. All events are free. At 5:30 p.m., a spaghetti supper will be served, children under 10 are free, adults are $5.

An outdoor dance will follow from 8:30 p.m. to 1 a.m., licensed under a special occasion permit. Admission is free.

Logan is eight months old and is being treated for a rare form of Leukemia. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy.

Cortnee is two-and-a-half years old and suffered from epilepsy so severe that the only cure was to remove a portion of her brain. She is making excellent progress and relearning all her skills.

Both families are suffering not only from the medical trauma, but the huge financial burden associated with it. People in the town of Narin Centre hope to be able to alleviate some of this.

For further information or to make a donation, people are asked to contact Brian Channon at 705-688-2453.
