Ribfest takes over Cedar Street in two weeks

The second annula Big Daddy's Ribfest, presented by Downtown Sudbury in support of United Way Centraide Sudbury and District, is two weeks away. The event will take place on the Cedar St., between Elgin and Durham Streets, for the entire day.

The second annula Big Daddy's Ribfest, presented by Downtown Sudbury in support of United Way Centraide Sudbury and District, is two weeks away. The event will take place on the Cedar St., between Elgin and Durham Streets, for the entire day.

The day will consist of activites for the entire family, including the Ribfest competition, live entertainment, children's activities and a craft show. Also, a guest Elvis will be making a special appearance at the competition.

The United Way Centraide is still taking entries for the Ribfest Competition. Interested participants are asked to phone the United Way at 560-3300 ext. 217 for further details and to register.

Crafters and artisans are still being sought for the August Craft Show, which is part of Ribfest. To book a table, phone Downtown Sudbury at 674-5115.

As a result of the event, Cedar St., between Elgin and Durham Streets, will be closed to vehicles from 7 am to 5 pm. The sidewalks on either side of the street will remain open to pedestrians.
