Wagonwheel Ranch is giving people a taste of the Wild West
with their new summer riding program. This season, the ranch is
offering eight weeks of child and adult Western Horseback
riding lessons, from July 7 to Aug. 25.
Students will learn catching, grooming, saddling and trail
riding, as well as working with horses in a barn, corral and on
the trails. Gentle "school horses" are used to ensure a safe
and fun learning environment.
The 2.5-hour sessions cost $55 each and the price for the full
eight weeks is $462 (GST included). A $150 deposit is required
upon reservation, and payment is due at the first lesson.
Instructors are accepting about eight people per session, said
a representative from the ranch.
In addition to the new riding program, Wagonwheel is offering
plenty of other summer activities. Horse-drawn hay rides, pony
rides, children's birthday parties, a petting farm, corporate
picnics and family fun days are available throughout the summer
months.
Wagonwheel Ranch also offers off-property services, including
hay and pony rides.
The ranch's "Breakfast Ride" brings guests on a hour-long
horseback-ride to nearby rapids. A cook makes breakfast and
riders dine by the falls.
