If a night out with the bridesmaids is in order, who better to spend it with than TV’s Say Yes to the Dress’ Randy Fenoli?

However, bridesmaids aren’t a requirement to attend the Divine Details Bridal Show, since it’s open to anyone who wants to get a first-hand glimpse of the season’s hottest gowns, as well as TV’s hottest bridal guru, according to Stacey Newell, owner of Priceless Bridals.

Newell said “everyone from grandmothers to teenagers to divorced women, and yes even men,” tune in to watch Say Yes to the Dress.

On TV, Fenoli is a sharp-dressed fellow known for his perfectly tailored suits and cool sense of style.

“Randy is the one the bridal stylists call in when they need help with the appointment,” Newell said. “Randy has an eye for fashion and has a vision when he looks at each bride. He loves working with brides who have no idea how gorgeous they can look.”

Newell said “Sudbury’s biggest fashion show” is a “great way to get a sneak peek at the hottest trends in bridal gowns and bridesmaids dresses.”

Adorae, a Sottero & Midgley wedding gown, is popular this season, according to Stacey Newell, owner of Priceless Bridals.

Adorae, a Sottero & Midgley wedding gown, is popular this season, according to Stacey Newell, owner of Priceless Bridals.

This year, slim a-line gowns with sweetheart necklines and corset closures are popular, according to Newell.

“Slinky fabrics” like satin are also in, because they offer sleek lines on slender silhouetted gowns. Adorae, a gown made by Sottero & Midgley, combines many of these elements.
Ruching, the pick-up pattern seen on skirts, is still trendy, too, according to Newell.

She said on Say Yes to the Dress, Fenoli said “three-dimensional” gowns featuring “flowers, ruffles, raw edges, dimension and movement” are in.

The bridal shop owner said that since the show deals with real brides, a real store and real bridal stylists, all the information is pretty accurate, except for the prices.

“We do live in Sudbury, not New York, where there have been episodes where you see a Greek family bartering over the cost of a dress originally priced at $24,000. Their dresses start at about $1,500 all the way up to bankruptcy.”

Newell said in Sudbury, $1,500 is the upper-end cost bracket for gowns.

On TV, Newell also noted that brides often shop with a number of others. She said having a pack of helpers can often do more harm than good.

“The best advice I can give for the bride-to-be who is out on her first venture is number one — bring only one or two trusted opinions.” Sometimes extra voices can be overwhelming, and Newell said friends sometimes don’t notice things like price.

She said it’s a good idea to let the bridal stylists pull out gowns based on the bride’s dream dress description, her body type and budget.

“Its best left to us who know our inventory and are respectful of the brides’ budget and wishes,” she said.

For brides wanting all the bridal shopping secrets straight from Fenoli, they can purchase tickets from Priceless Bridals at 25 Elgin St., and Charm Plus at 1400 The Kingsway. The show is set for Sept. 17 at the Caruso Club.

Tickets cost $30 in advance and $40 at the door.

Along with a fashion show, the evening also features more than 45 wedding vendors. The fashion show is set to start around 7:30 p.m., followed by a meet and greet with Fenoli.
