Science North summer science camps continue

Science North is offering  week-long, science day camps for youngsters ages four to fifteen this summer. These programs are part of an initiative that will see Science North bring Summer Science Camps to a record 22 communities in 2008, most of which are in northern Ontario but that also includes the Barrie area.

Science North has been offering summer science camp programs to children for over twenty years. Programs provide a unique mix of hands-on science and fun for kids. Most camps are available in English or French, and all contain new activities.

What other summer program gives your child the opportunity to make a cloud in a jar, search for buried fossils, take things apart to find out how they work, build their own construction projects and robots, design video games or make their own comic book, 3-D characters and stop-motion animation projects? There's even a science camp that's just for girls. From WaterWorks Camp to 3-D Game Making, there's lots to do.

Camps are filling quickly and many are already sold out. Register on-line at: sciencenorth.ca/camps. Visit the website for a complete list, including descriptions, about the Science North summer science camp programs being held in the community.

All of Science North's 2008 Summer Science Camps are sponsored by the Government of Ontario and First Data, and supported by Bayer.
