Theatre Cambrian's Kids' Curtain will be returning this season with a production of Disney’s Aladdin Jr.
The program is geared toward students from Grade 4 to Grade 11 and allows them to take part in a full-scale musical production, completely cast with young people, stated a news release.
In the stage adaptation of Alladin Jr., all the favorite characters will be present, including Aladdin, Jasmine and the Genie.
Academy award winning songs will also be part of the show, including “A Whole New World” and “Friend Like Me.”
“Filled with magic, mayhem, and flying-carpet rides, audiences’ spirits will soar with excitement,” stated the release.
Disney’s Aladdin Jr. runs from Dec. 10 to 19.
Auditions for the play will take place Sept. 8 to 10 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.. Audition pieces are found on Theatre Cambrian’s website.
There will be a $250 registration fee for selected participants.
Rehearsals will take place Wednesdays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.
Additional rehearsals will be added as opening night approaches.
