Greater Sudbury Northern Life

The Greater Sudbury Public Library invites quilters and sewers to celebrate 125 years of Greater Sudbury's heritage by contributing to a heritage quilt.

Quilters and sewers are invited to come to any branch of the Greater Sudbury Public Library after Nov. 17 to pick up a free quilting kit. The kit includes a registration form, instructions and background fabric to complete a 12-inch quilt block.

The quilts will cover Greater Sudbury's mining, lumbering, railway, farming, re-greening and land-of-lakes heritage.

Anyone who returns a completed block will receive a ballot to win $125.

Blocks must be returned to any of the 13 libraries by Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009.

For more information contact Kaija Mailloux, co-ordinator of outreach programs and partnerships, Greater Sudbury Public Library at 673-1155, ext. 210, or visit sudbury.library.on.ca.
