Sudbury Northern Life

The Sudbury & District Health Unit and community partners would like to encourage the community to stay active during the winter months by picking up a free pair of gently-used skates through the seventh annual skate exchange program.

Skates can be picked up on the following dates:
- Saturday, Jan. 10, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lockerby Legion (2200 Long Lake Rd.)
- Saturday, Feb. 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Dr. Edgar Leclair Community Centre/Arena (158 St. Agnes St. Azilda)
- Saturday, March 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at YMCA Sudbury, Kinsmen Room B (140 Durham St.)

There is no need to donate a pair of skates to pick up a pair. Skates are given out on a first-come, first-served basis. Sizes and quantities will vary.

Those who have skates that no longer fit, or aren't being used are asked to donate them at the following locations:
- City of Greater Sudbury community arenas
- Tom Davies Square (Citizen Service Centre)
- Centre de santé communautaire de Sudbury
- Sudbury & District Health Unit
- YMCA Sudbury
- The Human League

Skates can be dropped off during regular business hours. Donations will be accepted until April 30. Skates collected will be distributed to families, children, youth, and community agencies.

For more information, call Désirée Chartrand at 522-9200 ext. 223.
