CTV's So You Think You Can Dance Canada tour will be visiting the Sudbury Arena Dec.6. The top 10 dancers will be performing their hottest routines and most memorable performances of the season, along with a few surprises.

"It's nothing that people will expect,” said Tara-Jean Popowich, winner of this year's television series. “There's a couple new things and the audience will really get to know us as people as well. It's so exciting.”

As the winner of the second season of So You Think You Can Dance Canada, Tara-Jean received $100,000 as well as the keys to a brand new 2010 Mazda 3 Sport.

But the competition wasn't easy for the 20-year-old contemporary dancer from Alberta.

“I would sit on YouTube until four in the morning trying to study the type of dance I was going to perform,” said Popowich “House (a style of dance) was difficult, tap and ballroom were really difficult.”

The dance tour wraps up its 18-city Canadian tour in Halifax Dec. 22.

As for the future, Popowich plans to spend time with family once the 18-city Canadian tour wraps up.

“In January, I will be in Toronto teaching at the IDance Convention, that will be touring Canada. I want to do lots of TV work, so hopefully you will see me in a lot of other stuff."

You can see Popowich and her fellow top 10 dancers perform at the Sudbury Arena on Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $54 and $64, and can be purchased at the Sudbury Arena box office, online at www.greatersudbury.ca, or by phoning the Sudbury Arena box office at 671-3000.
