While many people are comfortable cooking with wine, Steam Whistle Brewing is hoping to get people thinking more about cooking with beer.

Cooking with Beer Challenge Their partnership with Cambrian College for the Cambrian College Cooking with Beer Challenge was aimed at doing just that.

"When we decided to do this event, we wanted to celebrate the kind of chefs that are pushing the limits and doing new things," said Chris Goddard, marketing manager of Steam Whistle Brewing.

"Beer is a very versatile ingredient that you can use. Our beer, because it's all natural, makes a good ingredient - nice and flexible. We're very excited to see what they've produced from it."

Ten students from Cambrian's chef training school in the hospitality program entered the challenge, with the top three recipes being chosen for the cook-off challenge on Feb. 19.
