Enjoy a mix of Sudbury’s local performing artists from the comfort and safety of your home. A collective performance will be streamed live to Facebook April 6 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The Sudbury Arts Council is presenting a variety show via Facebook on April 6.

"Stay Home Sudbury - Virtual Variety Show" will include a dozen independent singers and songwriters, musicians, rappers and comedians, to perform 10 minute sets remotely at home.

The collective performance will be streamed live to Facebook Monday night from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

“Our mandate is to help artists of every kind in every possible way we can,” Arts Council president Linda Cartier said.

“We are delighted to stream local artists during this time of isolation. This initiative can help these artists expand their audiences online, as well as provide an income source during these trying times.”

Performers in the lineup include comics Lesley Lynn and Shawn McLaren, and singers and musicians like Morgan Vienneau, Rod and Kass Bazinet, duo Nik & Julianne, Pierre Laframboise, Nik Landry, Mike Major, Jordel Downey and more.

The event is free to watch online, but a GoFundMe campaign will run throughout the Performance.  All funds contributed will go to the artists taking part in the stream.
