Sudbury Living was one of 10 Greater Sudbury businesses recognized for entrepreneurial spirit by the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce at the Bell Business Excellence Awards Ceremony.

The magazine, which is published by Laurentian Publishing, the parent company of Northern Life, was recognized in the New Venture category during the gala presentation, held at the Caruso Club May 11.

"I'm delighted that the magazine was recognized," Patricia Mills, Sudbury Living's publisher, said. "(Sudbury Living is) incredibly well received in Greater Sudbury. It's gratifying to know that it's recognized as a winning venture. It shows that good ideas and good people behind them can be successful, even in recessions. An idea is an idea, but when your staff champion your idea and bring it to life, they're the real movers and shakers."

The magazine is a quarterly publication that focuses on the lives and lifestyles of Greater Sudbury residents. A Sudbury Living for Students and Sudbury Living Wedding magazine have also been published under the brand, and the magazine has hosted spring and fall lifestyle and home shows.

"Sudbury Living is really about the people of Greater Sudbury and the life people live in Greater Sudbury," Mills said. "That's why it's such a popular magazine."
