Symposium teaches youth about tolerance

FABULOUS is a free day-long symposium being held at Sudbury Secondary School on Feb. 7. The event offers youth and community members the opportunity to meet, mingle, and learn about diversity and tolerance.

Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. and doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the film festival, which begins at 7 p.m.

This event is free for youth under the age of 27. Older participants are asked to bring a donation of non-perishable food for the pantries of local charities.

The agenda includes a Lunch & Learn, Youth Voices Panel, Info Fair, Ginormous Twister, and a Film Festival. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included. The keynote speaker is Adamo Ruggiero of Degrassi: The Next Generation.

During the youth voices panel, Sudbury youth will speak out about their experiences. The film festival includes a selection of favourites from Toronto's Inside Out Lesbian and Gay Film Festival.
