Faith Healer, a “moving, gut-wrenching, emotional, challenging and risky” play is set to take the stage at Thorneloe Theatre in September.

Three shows, slated for Sept. 17 and 18 at 8 p.m. and Sept. 19 at 2 p.m., are scheduled.

The play, written by Irish playwright Brian Friel, follows a faith healer who feels more like a fraud. Frank Hardy, the healer, just can't imagine how he's able to cure sick people.

According to a press release from Thorneloe Theatre, the plot itself is quite simple, but the characters are much more complex.

The show is being put on by Thorneloe Theatre and ImPULSE, an Ottawa-based theatre company.

Tickets to Faith Healer cost $25 for adults and seniors and $10 for students. They are available at Thornloe, the University Book Store and Black Cat. They can also be purchased at the door. For more information, phone 705-919-6941.
