To bring in some much-needed funds for the boxing academy, Top Glove Boxing is putting on a comedy night fundraiser Jan. 27.
The event features comedian, actor and producer turned entrepreneur Jon Laster.
Based in New York City, but originally from Denver, Colorado, Laster talks about his unique journey into the world of business with his hilarious comedic stylings.
Laster is the founder, CEO and visionary behind BLAPP (an app to support Black-owned businesses), as well as the MC of the esteemed Comedy Cellar in New York City.
He works in film and television, has performed on three different seasons of BET’s Comic View, hosted the Underground Comedy Festival in New York multiple times and tours with Tracy Morgan.
The Top Glove Boxing comedy event takes place at 147 Lorne St. starting at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $45, and include wine and finger foods. Phone 705-805-2699.
