Toronto Symphony Orchestra members to teach LU students

Laurentian University's Department of Music will host two classes on flute and low brass by musicians from the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) on the afternoon of Tuesday, Sept. 15.

Laurentian University's Department of Music will host two classes on flute and low brass by musicians from the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) on the afternoon of Tuesday, Sept. 15. The TSO is in the city as part of their collaboration with the new season of the Sudbury Symphony Orchestra.

There also will be a lecture by acclaimed TSO composer advisor Gary Kulesha. All three events will be held on the Laurentian campus in the English School of Education, room 012 in the basement.

The lecture takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The low brass class, by Kim Gilmore, occurs from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., while the flute masterclass, by Julie Ranti, is from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Admission is free and all are welcome. The events are supported by the Ontario Arts Council and the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
