According to the organizers of Sudbury's Up Here Festival, building a festival lineup is like solving a Rubik's Cube: it's complex and it's got a lot of moving parts and colours.

Organizers are issuing a call out for musicians, muralists and those hoping to do art installations to apply to take part in Up Here 4, which takes place Aug. 17-19, 2018 in “weird and wonderful Sudbury, Ontario.”

Up Here is an independent urban art and emerging music festival formed in 2015 in Sudbury, said a statement on the festival's website.

The festival is a laboratory for creation and the presentation of new art projects. Since its foundation, Up Here has cultivated a sense of curiosity and discovery amongst its festival goers.

All submissions are evaluated by the Up Here Artistic Committee based on artistic merit, timing of latest releases, pertinence of the project with this year's theme (slightly less pertinent for music projects) and pairing with other artists in the lineup.

Due to the high volume of submissions, only successful applicants will be notified.

All submissions must be received no later than Feb. 2, 2018.

You can apply to take part online here.
