The Art Gallery of Sudbury is exhibiting the works of late photographer Yousuf Karsh in an exhibit called "Yousuf Karsh: Industrial Images.”
The Ottawa-based photographer was known for his portraits of famous individuals.
The exhibit focuses on the commercial work he did in 1951, in Windsor, Ont. He captured portraits of the men employed on the assembly line, in the foundry and at the trade school of the Ford Motor Company of Canada. Karsh was commissioned by Ford to photograph the employees during a two-week period.
The show, developed by the Art Gallery of Windsor, originally had 75 pieces which had to be scaled down to 25 for the Art Gallery Of Sudbury exhibit, due to space restrictions. The remaining 50 pieces can be viewed from a projector located in the upstairs gallery.
The exhibit runs until Nov. 1. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for seniors and children. For more information, phone 675-4871 or go to www.artsudbury.org.
