Volunteer judges needed for annual BrainStorm Poetry Contest

The BrainStorm Poetry contest is looking for two or three poetry readers and writers, who have experience with mental illness, to spend a few evenings and a full day judging poetry. Reading will begin the week of Mar.

The BrainStorm Poetry contest is looking for two or three poetry readers and writers, who have experience with mental illness, to spend a few evenings and a full day judging poetry.

Reading will begin the week of Mar. 31 and judging will take place on  Apr. 6, from 10 am until a winner is chosen.

The BrainStorm Poetry Contest is a fundraiser for Open Minds Quarterly, a literary magazine which is published in Sudbury by Northern Initiative for Social Action, a mental health organization.

The winning poems will be published in the spring 2008 edition of the magazine, and the top three winners will be awarded monetary prizes.

The contest is open to consumers and survivors of mental health services internationally. Poetry about the experience of living with mental illness is welcomed, however, all subjects are acceptable.
