Walk and Wheel for Dystonia Research

 Mary Guy, who was diagnosed with dystonia 15 years ago, is the group leader for the Dystonia Support Group of Sudbury and District. She said she is hoping for community support this Sunday, June 13 for the five-kilometre Walk and Wheel for Dystonia Research.

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and the walk begins at 10 a.m. at the Howard Armstrong Recreation Centre at 4040 Elmview Dr. in Hanmer. Participants are to meet behind the building. Minimum donation is $20 per person.

Each person who raises $100 or more will receive a Freedom to Move Cap. A barbecue lunch and prizes will be given out after the walk. Dystonia is a movement disorder that causes muscles to contract and spasm involuntarily. Primary dystonia affects 50,000 Canadians.
